Optical silhouette has a strong influence on menswear Fall/Winter 2012-13 collections spanning across from established fashion houses to designers-at-the-moment. Believe it or not, the graphic-styled pieces are arguably one of the season’s worth-to-try l0oks for trend-following men. And designers’ return to this intriguing technique of applying asymmetrical prints from trim cropped cotton pants to wool sweater is not just a coincidence.

Colors are presented well in neutral tones and delicately-sewed fabrics so the clothes are sure long-lasted for the entire seasons and well beyond. The application of asymmetrical prints with tie-die effects that were spotted in Bottega Veneta Yigal Azrouel; or check prints in Louis Vuitton and Y-3 demonstrated designers’ careful tread to lead the fashion pendulum.

And, a vast improvement of fabrics is taken by designers seriously too. Customers are promised to feel great with traditional materials like cotton, wool or linen. The shape of clothes is plentiful varying from trim pants to shorts. So, there is at least something for everyone to wear regardless of the weather condition and location.

So, it is your favorite trend but how to pull it off nicely? As my own experience, graphic never works for corporate look. Why? Its intricate prints are meant to make you an ultimate dizzying magnet. But, a small proportion of graphic detail is acceptable. Remember a rule of thumb that small prints make you look tinier and vice versa. And, do not forget to wear blazer to keep you warm. Always opt for zipper closure so you can tailor the amount of opening of the coat to your liking.

Picking the best accessory to pull everything off does not seem like a challenge too. If you are the true Rock’N’Roll lover, then studded bracelets, handcuffs or leather shoes are irresistible pieces. But be warned-if you add too many accessories, the effect might be reversed. For more casual looking, opt for more plain items like the LOUIS VUITTON strapped bag or BALENCIAGA shoes with little or no decoration. Good luck!
